Manchester Pride is one of the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ charities. They campaign for LGBTQ+ equality, celebrate LGBTQ+ life and create opportunities that engage LGBTQ+ people in Greater Manchester so that they can thrive.
Every year, they host The Manchester Pride Festival, a 4 day event in the heart of Manchester, and one of the UK’s largest Pride celebrations. Over 140,000 people attend the event which has brought artists like Ariana Grande, Years & Years, Emelie Sande and Cheryl amongst others into the city to celebrate LGBTQ+ life.
We were brought in by Manchester Pride in 2019 as their official video team (our third year in partnership). The festival expanded massively from the previous year, now spreading across two huge sites in the centre of Manchester, bringing in artists like Ariana Grande, Years & Years, Cheryl, Basement Jaxx, Ministry of Sound Orchestra etc, attracting 140,000+ attendees.
The organisers wanted to focus on shorter content to be used for promotional purposes, with the aim of showing the growth from the previous years.
We produced three short videos to be shared on social media following the event, as well as four daily wrap ups that were released after each day of the festival. These were complemented by a 3 minute aftermovie which showed off the whole event.
After each day of the festival, we produced these short recap videos which were shared on the Manchester Pride socials.
“Manchester Pride has had the pleasure of working with the McGill Productions team for several years, and we’re consistently impressed by their professionalism, the outstanding quality and uniqueness of their work. Their passion for creating not only captivating videography, but something that reflects our identity as a charity and the spirit of Manchester Pride Festival so perfectly is admirable.”
