HARBOUR
Harbour approached McGill Productions in 2023 with a clear challenge: create a launch brand film that could explain a new fintech proposition in a way that felt credible, ambitious, and easy to understand. As a start-up focused on connecting traditional finance, crypto, and DeFi in one user-friendly app, Harbour needed a video production partner who could turn a complex financial story into a clear launch message for crypto-native audiences.
BRIEF
The goal was simple: introduce Harbour as a brand built to challenge mistrust in traditional finance and present a more transparent alternative.
Harbour wanted the film to explain its wider vision, show why the product mattered, and create a launch asset that could work across social media, investor conversations, and wider brand activity. The film needed to reach crypto-native audiences, investors, and a wider brand audience, while introducing Harbour as a start-up connecting traditional finance, crypto, and DeFi in one user-friendly app.

01 // PRE-PRODUCTION
McGill Productions started in pre-production by shaping a narrative built around trust, transparency, and the wider context around traditional finance. The aim was to turn a complex fintech proposition into a clearer, more emotionally resonant brand story for launch and investor communications.
What made the project distinct was the need to make a technical product feel accessible without losing credibility. Rather than leading with product features, McGill Productions positioned Harbour against the wider backdrop of mistrust in traditional finance, then introduced the app as a more transparent alternative. That framing gave the brand a stronger point of view and a clearer reason to exist on screen.

The production approach focused on building a launch asset that could work across multiple commercial settings. The film was designed from the outset to play across social media, investor meetings, investment pitches, and wider brand activity, so the pacing, structure, and tone needed to hold up in each of those contexts.
Custom motion graphics and animation were used throughout to support the story and simplify the message, helping to explain how Harbour connects traditional finance, crypto, and DeFi in one user-friendly app without overwhelming the viewer. The Harbour app itself was featured as the core product, with visuals built to make its role within the wider financial landscape easier to follow.

In post-production, McGill Productions combined motion graphics, animation, and a carefully paced edit to bring the Harbour proposition to life. The result was a launch film that explained the brand, communicated its values, and left investors and audiences with a clear understanding of what Harbour was setting out to do.
The final film gave Harbour a clearer way to introduce its brand at launch, turning a complex fintech proposition into a more emotionally resonant and accessible story. By focusing on trust, transparency, and the wider context around traditional finance, McGill Productions created a brand film designed to do more than explain a product. It gave Harbour a stronger narrative foundation for launch and investor communications.
The film was used in investment pitches and meetings, extending its value beyond social media and into Harbour's wider commercial conversations. It remained in use as part of the business's communications into early 2025, showing that the asset had lasting value beyond the initial launch period.
