Banks Lyon approached McGill Productions in 2021 with a clear challenge: create luxury jewellery video production content for its bridal campaign that could showcase both the product and the service behind it. As an independent watch and jewellery retailer based in Lancaster, with a second store in Kendal, Banks Lyon needed a video production partner who could turn its bridal offer into a campaign that felt intimate, premium, and emotionally grounded.

The Brief

The goal was simple: position Banks Lyon as the jeweller for moments that last a lifetime. The campaign needed to showcase the bridal offering, highlight the quality of the rings and wider product range, and reinforce the sense of care, trust, and expertise behind the brand.

This was not just about filming jewellery in a showroom. The brief needed to connect Banks Lyon with commitment, love, and milestone moments, while still making the products feel desirable and the brand feel premium. The campaign had to strike a balance between emotional storytelling and luxury retail presentation.

Our Approach

McGill Productions started in pre-production by shaping the campaign around story rather than stock luxury imagery. The creative focused on closeness, shared moments, and the role jewellery plays in marking major life events. That gave the film a quieter, more intimate tone that matched the subject matter and the brand's family-run identity.

What made the project distinct was the way product storytelling and brand feeling were brought together. Rather than treating the jewellery as static display pieces, McGill Productions built the campaign around movement, connection, and atmosphere, making the products feel part of a lived emotional moment rather than a catalogue shoot.

Production took place over two days across Lancaster and Kendal, including Ashton Memorial, one of the district's best-known wedding venues. That gave the campaign a stronger sense of place and helped anchor the bridal side of the story visually. Across the shoot, McGill Productions captured Banks Lyon's engagement rings, fine diamond jewellery, and luxury Swiss watches in a way that supported the wider premium positioning of the brand.

In post-production, the campaign was completed with editing, voiceover casting and recording, sound mix and master, visual effects, colour grade, music licensing, subtitling, and amendments. Alongside the main film, McGill Productions also delivered seven social clips and a bank of campaign photography to support wider rollout.

What We Delivered

  • 1 bridal campaign film for Banks Lyon
  • 7 social clips for campaign rollout
  • 74 campaign photos
  • Edited master with voiceover, sound mix, colour grade, VFX, music licensing, and subtitles

The Result

The final campaign gave Banks Lyon a more cinematic way to present its bridal offering, turning product content into a brand story built around commitment, care, and long-term value. By focusing on intimacy, calm visual language, and location-led storytelling, McGill Productions created a campaign that positioned Banks Lyon as more than a retailer — it framed the business as part of important life moments.

The campaign also had visible use beyond delivery. The film was published on Vimeo, YouTube, and Facebook, and campaign photography continued to appear in Banks Lyon's marketing after launch — giving the content a longer life and broader value beyond the original shoot.
